Medium Size Build Volume

The overall build volume of this unit is approximately 220 x 220 x 260mm. This allows the Geeetech A10 to print one full centimeter higher than most other competitor printers such as the Ender 3.

However, there are other printers that printer higher than that, such as the Creality CR-10 that offers 300 x 300 x 400mm. Conversely, the Monoprice Mini Select clocks in at 120 x 120 x 120 mm, while the Prusa i3 MK3 offers a nominal print volume of approximately 250 x 210 x 200mm or so.

A “Super Plate”

Just because it says super does not necessarily mean that it is precisely that. However, in this case, the good people at Geeetech offer an interesting and viable concept. The printer glass plate has been covered with a very thin layer of minute dots that combined; increase the adhesive nature of the print bed once it becomes hot.

It is very easy to remove the finished 3D prints once the bed is allowed to cool down after the printing job is finished. In fact, the 3D printed objects have been known to just simply pop off with an audible and satisfying sound.

However, you will need a spatula and a lot of elbow grease to get the job done in one quick and clean move.

It Has Its Very Own Dedicated Slicer

Geeetech offers its own software that is known as Easyprint 3D. It is available for free and its many versions can be used for Windows, IMac, as well as Linux based operating systems (OS).

Our Impression

This is a very impressive printer kit; there is no doubt on that score. From the initial unboxing of this 3D printer kit to the first print, everything was flawless. In fact, there were no real problems that we faced, apart from a few minor inconveniences during the assembly procedure.

You will definitely find yourself spending a lot of time with this printer, once you get well and thoroughly bitten by the 3D printer kit bug. Yes, it is by no means the very best 3D printer kit in the market, but then, it is also not an expensive printer as such. In a nutshell, you get what you pay for and you are definitely getting a lot with this particular printer package.

Overall Build Quality

The V-Rail construction can be justifiably referred to as the top of the line. A really great thing about it is that the two axis have their own individual spacers for adjustment purposes.

This is a very strong feature not commonly available in any other unit in this price range. There are very few 3D manufactured parts in this machine. Most of them have been commercially made in a factory and this definitely gives a much better quality feel about the whole thing.

Print Quality of this Printer

First layer adhesion is absolutely top-notch. In fact, you will get amazing results straight out of the box. If you have any sort of prior experience with the art and science of 3D printing, you will love the sheer tweak-ability of this printer.

This holds particularly true if you know your way around the slicer program of this printer. You will be able to get simply amazing results. So yes, the print quality is right up there and it punches well about its weight in the quality department.

User Interface and Navigation

The LCD is pretty basic but it is nonetheless pretty easy to get around its menu. It’s a plain vanilla design and its very simplicity makes it an ideal choice for newbies. However, it does leave a lot to be desired in the interesting features department. This is not an issue due to its unique design and you can easily upgrade the firmware anytime you want, in the future.

It is a bit of a shame that they installed such a tiny LCD on this otherwise great printer. But as was said before, this too can also be fully modified as an upgrade on this printer.

Geeetech A10 vs Ender 3

Of course, the Geeetech A10 has a whole lot of competition in this extremely fast-paced market, where new models are rolled out every few weeks. Pick up any number of reviews and you can see that its closest competitor is Creality Ender 3.

In fact, both of these printers are almost at the same level as far as the really important stuff is concerned.

The basic differences are mostly trivialities: If the A10 sports new and improved shaped wheels so does the Ender 3 with a near-identical set of large level wheels. The A10 has a better power supply cover and heat bed thanks to its lack of dents.

The Ender-3 has a much larger community, thanks to its widespread popularity amongst the 3D printing community at large. However, this does not mean that Geeetech is far behind since it too has multiple Facebook groups as well as an official forum too.

In every channel, the company makes it a point to comment and guide as much as possible. Certainly far more than its Creality counterpart. Both have roughly similar feeders that are strictly functional.

Yes, it may be true that Ender 3’s display is a tad bigger, but then, the A10 is a whole lot faster to set up. Finally, both these 3D printers give great prints.

In a nutshell, the Geeetech A10 delivers. It is a great printer at an affordable price and its print accuracy is second to none at its given price point.
